About Monica - Head Costume Designer

Monica has a degree in Fashion Designing from South Delhi Polytechnic, India and has worked for five years with “The Shop” in New Delhi. We are honored to have her as part of our creative team. Monica brings to us her vast global experience – as a Production Manager in Europe & USA for an apparel company and as a Merchandiser for a British firm. Monica also has a Masters in Education Administration.

In addition to her vast experience in fashion designing, she also has experience in designing Bollywood costumes. Monica says "Designing Bollywood costumes to make a visual statement to the audience is fascinating and exciting! It combines my love for fashion, Indian art & administration"

She will be in charge of the costume designing process at Shuffle. She believes in the Shuffle mission and shares Pallavi's vision for Bollywood Shuffle. In this role, she will strive to display the glory of Bollywood through artistic, joyous, decent & economical costumes!

About Shuffle Costumes

A large attraction of Bollywood dances are the extravagant costumes. At Shuffle, we design costumes that fit the dance style. Just like the Bollywood dance style, the costumes have different yet amazing flavors. Costumes can be colorful salwar kameez for Bhangra, a choli & 6 yard outfit for Marathi dance or a multi-colored Lehenga for a fusion dance.

To keep costuming economical, we are also working on our "Shuffle Closet". Our focus is shifting towards rent more than buy.

For performers only - a general idea of your performance costume will be discussed with you in the second class of your workshop. You will have your costume ready by 2/3 way into the workshop.
